As members of the Church, we have responsibilities to one another, but also to God. Every time we sin, our relationship with God and with other humans is distorted thus alienating us from God, and from others. Through the sacrament of Confession humans’ sins are forgiven, and our relationship to God and to others is restored.

The priest being the sacramental witness who represents both Christ and His people, acts a physician and guide namely as the spiritual father. Confession is a necessary preparation for Holy Communion.
